The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) has announced the fixtures for the SAFF 2020 Championsip, which was postponed previously due to the COVID pandemic. The SAFF 2020 Championship is to be played from October 1 to 13 in the Maldives.
The 2020 SAFF Cup was planned to be played out in Bangladesh last year, but due to the pandemic complications Bangladesh pulled out of hosting the tournament. Then Maldives and Nepal applied to be the host for the tournament, but in the end SAFF decide to give the islanders the hosting courtesy.
The SAFF 2020 Cup will now be played in Maldives from October 1 to 13 at the Male Stadium. Besides the hosts Maldives, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka are all set to face off each other. Bhutan opted out to participate in this tournament while Pakistan will be missing this tournament due to their Suspension by the world governing FIFA.
India will be facing Bangladesh on October 3rd, Sri Lanka on October 6th, Nepal on October 8th and Maldives on October 11th. The top two sides in this round robin format will move into the finals which will be played on October 13th.

How are the Indians Looking for the 2020 SAFF Championship ?
The Blue Tigers will be looking to clinch their record eighth SAFF Championship title. The Indian national team are all set to play their two international friendlies against Nepal on September 2nd and 5th at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal. The Indian team under, Igor Stimac as their head coach are currently staying in Kolkata for 15days camp and then they will directly going to Nepal.
